Our Mission
At Green Compass, we create timepieces that reflect a deep connection to nature and a commitment to protecting it. Each watch is more than a precision instrument — it’s a symbol of respect for the natural world and a gesture of support for endangered species.
Driven by a passion for craftsmanship and conservation, we collaborate with artists and environmental partners to fund reintroduction projects and raise awareness through every creation. Green Compass is for those who value beauty with purpose — where every second counts, for you and for the planet.
THE TEAM
We are a team of watchmaking experts, passionate photographers, and committed nature lovers. With decades of experience in the watch industry, a deep dedication to wildlife preservation, and a scientific mind driven by a love for fauna, we unite craftsmanship and conservation with purpose.

Raffi Maghdessian
Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1973, Raffi Maghdessian is the great-grandson of Arthur Imhof, founder of the prestigious Imhof manufacture, renowned for its exceptional table clocks. Heir to a watchmaking legacy passed down through several generations, he now leads two companies specializing in watchmaking subcontracting. As co-founder of Green Compass, he brings together his passion for horology and his deep personal love for wildlife photography.
Green Compass embodies this dual vocation: creating timepieces inspired by nature and fostering a community of wildlife photography enthusiasts through meaningful travel.

Christophe Schaefer
Raised across Europe in a family where art and nature were inseparable, Christophe Schaefer developed an early sensitivity to the protection of the natural world — his mother, a watercolorist and one of the early members of ADENA (which later became WWF Spain), introduced him to environmental causes from a young age. At just seven, he became one of ADENA’s youngest members, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to wildlife protection.
After three decades in the watchmaking industry — including a pivotal role at IWC — Schaefer built deep expertise across the full spectrum of the craft. As founder of Wonderful Times, he forged a solid reputation in movement customization.
With Green Compass, Schaefer brings together his artistic roots and environmental convictions, crafting timepieces inspired by nature and guided by an independent spirit.

My mission: to make sure every environmental commitment is thoughtful, impactful, and grounded in science.
